The hangover from the ‘reefer madness’ campaign is still noticeable in today’s world. We look at anything associated with cannabis with some degree of suspicion. But, society is changing. As we wake up from the effects of the 1930s propaganda, people are starting to realize the potential benefits of this elusive natural plant.
5 Ways to die from CBD Oil
1.) You could drop the bottle which smashes, spilling oil everywhere. You could then slip on the oil and accidentally stick your head into the toaster which electrocutes you.
2.) You could take your eye off the road if you are trying to find your bottle whilst you are driving. Then, you could drive off a cliff.
3.) You could take the bottle out in a local cafe and have the guy on the next table get paranoid about you poisoning him. He could wait for you outside and then beat you to death with a baguette from the bakery across the road.
4.) You could have a prankster friend, who fills the bottle with LSD for a joke. You could then try to kill the president and get taken out by the Secret Service.
5.) You could completely miss your mouth with the dropper and stab yourself through the eye and into the brain.
-
Make sure the oil is very high-quality and pure
-
Always buy from a trusted source
-
Check the THC content (Not that THC can kill you either but take enough of it and you might think so)
An unregulated industry is always a lottery

Back in the days, when access to cannabis was a lottery, my friend and I smoked some grass from Asia. I immediately felt bad. But my friend, he instantly went blind. At first, I laughed, but then he started running around the room, panicking and knocking things over. Less than twenty seconds later he could see again. We felt at the time that something had been added. Fly-spray is a common one as it looks like THC crystals and adds an extra ‘buzz’. Such was the randomness of buying cannabis in the 1990s.
- Dry mouth
- hunger
- Inability to talk
- Inability to do anything except watch TV
- Tiredness.
- Mild but pleasant drowsiness the morning after.
This applies all the more when it comes to CBD oil that is of high quality and from a trusted source. We live in a world where everything is unsubstantiated until the government approves it. So of course, you can’t say that it is safe. But if this was a fiction novel, I could write that CBD is safe.
Everything in Moderation
Of course, if you are taking various medications or treatments, you should talk to a health professional about whether it might interact. This part isn’t fiction, it is genuinely a good idea.

You should remember that too much of anything isn’t good for you. If you eat too much broccoli even, your body will have some kind of reaction. Everything is useful at the right dose and, overdone, everything can be a poison. Also, people can have reactions to things. Some people are allergic to things that are considered extremely safe. So there are always exceptions.

Of course, you should do your research, but in these days of information overload, it is good to know the motivation of your source. With the threat of CBD in the pharmaceutical and other industries, you have to be careful what you read. The internet has become a huge source of propaganda. A medical article shouldn’t be a marketing article but these days, it often is.
So is CBD oil safe? It depends on the angle you come at it, but you can probably assume that by picking the best brand with the highest purity; by checking the labels and; clearing it with your doctor that you are in pretty safe hands.

9 Sep 2019I liked how you approached this subject with a sense of humor. Anything can become dangerous for all sorts of reasons. In the case of CBD, consuming it clearly is not one. You did make one very important point and that is the possibility of negative interactions with other medications a patient may be taking. Consulting their doctor is indeed a very good idea. In fact I would go so far as to say, we should contact our doctor any way if we intend to take CBD Oil.
Great article.

29 Aug 2019You are right that vegetables and excess can be toxic! Especially vegetables like spinach which contain a lot of oxalates, an anti nutrient that is one of the building blocks of kidney stones.
Because you say CBD is a muscle relaxant I wonder, is it helpful if you are trying to do bodybuilding or weightlifting? Like if I took my dose of CBD in the morning and then I worked out within the next few hours would it be a detriment to my workout?
